Run for Rosa: The Marathon Continues
Run For Rosa: The Marathon Continues
In July 2024, Run for Rosa Founder, Stuart Rayner, ran 11 marathons in 11 days in order to raise funds for The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG).
The project, which was titled “The Run for Rosa” initiative, was initially founded back in 2017 in loving memory of his cousin who tragically lost her life by falling off a balcony on her 21st birthday at the Kimberley Hotel in Cape Town. The run has always been about keeping her spirit alive and initially set out to help raise funds to send an underprivileged child through school.
Exactly seven years later he successfully managed to reimagine the initiative for the first time… but this time, he focused on a cause that was close to his heart: anxiety and depression.
Upon the completion of the 2024 initiative, we launched a short film titled “Run for Rosa: The Marathon Continues”. This short film sets out to capture the spirit of the long distance runner, showcase what it was like to be behind the scenes over the 11 day period and give voice to the beginning of a much bigger journey and narrative.
